Institutional Partners
For close cooperation with its, LIFE ÁGUEDA (LIFE16 ENV/PT/000411) internal team and beneficiaries undertake continuous interaction with stakeholders that can contribute for the successful implementation of foreseen tasks and duties, as well as to help foster the replication/transfer of the project’s expected results.
Under such context, the project management structure includes a Steering Committee which meets regularly along the project, having for aim supporting and advising on issues that are critical and/or relevant for the project’s works and outputs. This includes stakeholders from various geographical origins (from local to international) and sectors (e.g. public and private, research, experts, among others).
Among such members, and due to their institutional roles, we emphasize the presence of a set o national public administrations who are in charge of EU policies dealing with the project subject areas, and therefore particularly relevant for partnering with its execution:
- APA, the Portuguese Environment Agency, national public institute that, among others, has for duties those of implementing EU policies related to water and climate;
- ICNF, the National Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests , national public institute that, among others, has for duties those of implementing EU policies related to Natura 2000 and biodiversity conservation;
- DGRM, the General-Direction for Marine Natural Resources, Safety and Services, the national public administration that has for mission, among others, the execution of national policies for conservation of marine natural resources and of fisheries;
- IPMA, the Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute, the State Laboratory that has for mission promoting and coordinating research, technological development, innovation and knowledge deployment on subject areas related to sea and atmosphere resources, which is also the public authority for meteorology and climate data and forescasting.
the Fisheries Secretary of State, which supports the project works as part of its mission and aims in what concerns all matters that deal with sustainable management of fisheries.
